About Us

The African Youth Alliance for Chemicals and Waste (AYACW)

The African Youth Alliance for Chemicals and Waste (AYACW) is a pan-African coalition of youth aimed at empowering and mobilizing African youths for inclusive participation and collaborative efforts towards sound management of chemicals and waste for a toxic-free future for all.

To achieve this, the Alliance supports civil society advocacy efforts and initiatives in support of multilateral environmental agreements (MEAs) and instruments such as the Basel, Rotterdam, and Stockholm conventions, the Minamata Convention, the Strategic Approach to International Chemicals Management (SAICM), the Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee (INC), the Science-Policy Panel (SPP), and others to foster movement unity throughout Africa.
